Fiordland Hotel

I was worried after reading reviews - I needn't have been. This motel is a bit tired and worn round the edges - but the room and bed were really comfortable, nice bathroom, great wifi, few minutes flat walk to Te Anau waterfront and town - with bars, restaurants and shops. The room had a fridge - very useful , hairdryer - brilliant, tea and coffee supplies, and the parking was excellent- right outside our window. Not much of a balcony but we found outside seating upstairs. It was very quiet, away from road noise and nothing inside from other guests. Fair price and a great night's sleep. We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on the catering.

Rooms may be a bit old but we're clean and warm. The bathroom was a bit rough in places,but once again, clean and good shower pressure. There is a problem with the hot water though, my husband got a burnt from fluctuating hot water, which for him he could quickly fix. Unlike our 3 or old grand daughter who was also staying in another room, got quite a good burning, this needs addressing. Apart from that, our stay was great.

A lovely spacious unit, with great amenities - including a washing machine and full oven. Liked the outside area with outdoor furniture to sit on. Nice shower nd the unit was lovely and clean with good, cofortable beds. CLose to restaurants as well.

Decent stay if you don't want to stay at a campsite, but also do not want to pay for fancy hotels around. Nice lounge with a pool table and a ping-pong table. From one side, they have a microwave there and even allow to stack dirty dishes so the staff will clean it next day...

The woman running the hotel is lovely and honestly made our stay that much better. The rooms where clean and we'll kept. The only shame of the whole stay was that the communal areas seemed a little outdated. If the owner would renovate the large breakfast area it would be beautiful. I'm sure lots of weddings and events would love that space but it needs a little TLC.
